Toy Safety

Parents and Grandparents should be outraged by the recent information that toys made in China are not safe. Where were the toy companies and distributors in America when this was happening? It is little consolation that the CEO's of these companies say they are "profoundly sorry". Why must there be a crisis of major proportions before action is taken to ensure that our kids and grandkids are safe? Somebody dropped the ball big time! Toy companies---get with it! You were trusted and you failed! Must the government always step in to staighten out the mess? Safe toys can be found out there and all of us must take that extra effort to protect our kids. Many toy companies have done it right and should be sought after to provide the safety our kids must have. Look for the statements of safety on the website before you purchase.

Insurers should pay

I continue to see numerous articles in newspapers and magazines about insurers not paying the bill for their clients, or if they do pay, it is only after much hassle and possibly a law suit. Insurers have an obligation to "pay up" when the insurance is needed by the individual paying the premium. What other reason do we carry insurance? The insurer wastes very little time getting the premium billing out. My partner's business insurer actually sent a premium billing over six month early as a reminder to pay by the due date six months from now. Stupid? Insurers seem to drag their feet every chance they get before releasing any dollars. Oh, I'm sure there are the good ones that pay immediately, but they seem to be few and far between. Insurers...pay up! You seem to have no problem demanding our premiums...
